Apollo owns the data half of outbound: 240M contacts, 30M companies, a dialer, email sequences and a free tier, all for less per seat than most tools charge for one feature. What it does not do is run LinkedIn. Its own help center says Apollo does not complete LinkedIn tasks for you, so every invite and message is a person copying text into a browser tab. That is the real line between these two products, and this page walks it.
You need contact data and email volume, and your team sends from their own seats. Nothing here competes with a 240M-contact database bundled into a $49 seat, the dialer is real, the free plan is genuinely usable, and its hosted MCP server works in Claude, ChatGPT and Perplexity on every plan including free. For a team building lists and running email, Apollo is the efficient answer.
LinkedIn has to actually run, unattended, on accounts that belong to your clients. Each account gets its own cloud browser and residential proxy with per-action budgets, drafts face a critic before a human ever sees them, and doubtful ones wait in a review queue. Keep Apollo underneath: it connects as an enrichment provider and generated workflows wire it in automatically.

Where Apollo is genuinely strong
Apollo bundles things other vendors sell separately, and it does it cheaply. A $49 seat on annual billing carries a 240M-contact database, email sequencing, intent topics and CRM sync, and the free plan is usable rather than a demo. Nothing in CampaignStack replaces any of that, and we are not building a contact database.
Its agent story is ahead of most of the category too. Apollo runs a hosted MCP server with 45 actions over OAuth, available on every plan including free, with native connectors in Claude, ChatGPT and Perplexity. No API key, no local install. Ours is deeper across the outreach surface, but Apollo got the distribution right first and it deserves the credit.
The LinkedIn steps are somebody's afternoon
This is the difference that matters and Apollo documents it plainly. LinkedIn steps in a sequence create tasks, and Apollo does not complete those tasks for you. The workflow is: open the task, copy the message, click through to the profile, send the invite or the message yourself, come back, mark it complete. Multiply by a hundred contacts and it is an afternoon, every day, for every client.
Because nothing is automated, there is also nothing to keep safe. Apollo holds no LinkedIn session and applies no per-account limits; its own guidance is to watch your own volume of connection requests. That is honest advice, and it is also the whole job handed back to you.

Does Apollo automate LinkedIn?
No. Apollo's knowledge base states that Apollo does not complete LinkedIn tasks for you: LinkedIn steps in a sequence create manual tasks, and a person opens each one, copies the message, sends the invite or message on LinkedIn, then marks it complete. Apollo's Chrome extension finds contact data while you browse LinkedIn; it does not send on your behalf. CampaignStack runs those actions server-side in a persistent browser profile per account.
Is Apollo cheaper than CampaignStack?
Yes, and the units are not comparable. Apollo charges per user: $49, $79 or $119 monthly on annual billing, with Organization requiring three seats. CampaignStack charges $299 per client workspace with unlimited LinkedIn accounts and team members inside it. Four Apollo Professional seats cost about what one CampaignStack workspace does, but they buy different things, so the useful question is whether you are currently paying someone to send LinkedIn messages by hand.

Can I use Apollo and CampaignStack together?
That is the normal setup. Apollo connects as an enrichment provider, and a generated workflow inserts the Apollo lookup ahead of the email steps on its own. Apollo lists import directly, and leads deduplicate on LinkedIn identity. Apollo keeps the data and the email; CampaignStack takes the LinkedIn delivery and the drafting.
Can I migrate from Apollo to CampaignStack?
Partly, and only the outreach half. Export contacts to CSV or import an Apollo list directly, then re-onboard LinkedIn accounts with a session cookie in about two minutes each. What does not come with you is the database subscription: if you cancel Apollo you lose the contact data, so most teams keep the seat and connect it instead. Sequences rebuild as workflows, and the dialer has no equivalent here.
